Albinism is rare among wild animals because albinism would not give a wild animal a survival advantage (unless we rapidly go into another ice age and white animals happen to be better able to hide in the snow drifts). Wild animals need to eat without being eaten. An albino animal in the wild would stick out like a sore thumb, so they wouldn't be as able to hide from their predators or sneak up on their prey.
